Preventing leaks in water-based fire protection systems

Corrosion inside fire protection piping that eventually leads to leaks is a problem that most healthcare organizations have dealt with over the years. Whether the sprinkler system is a dry system, such as a pre-action or dry pipe valve, or a typical wet system, the leaks do not seem to discriminate. The type of piping, such as galvanized, black pipe, or even plastic pipe does not seem to matter either. And the age of the system is not always a factor when these pinhole leaks begin to appear.
