A resource center can help a hospital manage its physical environment, says Joseph A. Glaski, MBA, SASHE, administrator of facilities management at Orange Regional [include full name and location]. The idea is to create a place where one call does it all.

The resource center provides a central point of contact that simplifies the process of requesting facility services. For example, at Orange Regional, the resource center will be the place to request services from any of the following departments:

  • Plant operations
  • Grounds
  • Biomedical
  • Safety and security
  • Maintenance
  • Construction
  • Housekeeping/linen
  • Emergency management
  • Patient transport
