Q: Who is responsible for the management of a needlestick exposure to a contract employee? A nurse from our clinic was injured in the OR where she was assisting.
A: There is a shared responsibility between the original employer (clinic) and the lessor employer (hospital), according OSHA, with the original employer responsible for all postexposure management.
