Wright-Patterson (OH) Medical Center experienced quite the scare over the weekend when a man fired a gun in the hospital’s emergency room, reports the Dayton Daily News.
The medical center is one of the Air Force’s largest medical treatment facilities. The man was described as appearing intoxicated or distraught when he entered the emergency room around 6:30 p.m. on June 11. He shot only once, aiming at himself, and missed. He then surrendered to base security officers.
The incident occurs after a physician was shot and killed on May 26 by a disgruntled patient at Florida Hospital in Orlando.
