Study finds sharps protection program reduces injuries

A five-year study has found that sharps with engineered sharps injury protections reduced the risk of sharps injuries in acute care hospitals in Massachusetts. Researchers also report that sharps injury rates declined significantly with nurses, but not with physicians.
