Q: Do sharps disposal containers have to be in each individual exam room or can we have one at the nurses’ station?
A: The standard calls for sharps disposal containers to be easily accessible and placed as close as feasible to the area of use, which makes one centrally located container at a nurses’ station difficult to justify for compliance reasons.
