California hospitals at risk for earthquake safety

An investigation done by California Watch found that California has been offering little information on the possibility of hospitals collapsing during earthquakes, and hasn’t called for detailed evaluations.
The state of California requires hospitals that are at risk to replace, fix, or remove its patients by either 2013 or 2015, according to CaliforniaHealthLine.org. A hospital’s license can be taken away if it fails to comply with these safety precautions, which could ultimately lead to the hospital shutting down.
