UCLA Health System performs large-scale drill
Emergency Management Alert, March 23, 2010
Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopedic Hospital recently underwent a drill scenario in which a dirty bomb was released in downtown Santa Monica, CA, all in the name of preparedness, reports the Santa Monica Daily Press.
In addition to local responders, members of the Beverly Hills and Manhattan Beach Fire departments and other emergency workers and even high school students, playing the part of injured victims, took part in the drill. Local emergency response officials said the drill was critical for being prepared for a true emergency, especially with tens of thousands of people coming for the Los Angeles marathon in a week.
