When stakeholders offer a piece of their collective minds during the “OSHA Listens” public meeting on Feb. 10, those in the healthcare industry would do well to reflect the thoughts of NIOSH Director John Howard, MD, on how the concept of self-sacrifice undercuts sound occupational safety and health principles and prevents the creation of a sustainable healthcare workforce.
