With OSHA’s recent enforcement directive forcing some healthcare facilities to revise and even improvise on their N95 respirator protection plans, NIOSH’s Respirator Trusted-Source Information Page is a good resource to verify which respirators are approved, how to get them, and how to use them.
Especially useful are the sections on:
- Where to find and how to interpret the NIOSH approval on package labels and the respirator itself
- The manufacturers’ list of approved N95 and similar filtering facepiece respirators
- Alternatives to disposable N95 respirators
See today’s OSHA Healthcare Advisor featured post for more on NIOSH and H1N1 respiratory protection.
