Q: During a recent inspection, our fire marshal said the five-year standpipe waterflow test is required to have at least 500 gallons per minute (GPM) at the roof. We are not aware of this, and cannot find this requirement in the Life Safety Code® (LSC). Are we required to have a minimum of 500 GPM flow from our standpipe system on our roof?
