NIOSH reports on endoscope sterilizer hazards

NIOSH’s health hazard evaluation program just posted a report on exposure to an enzymatic cleaner and a sterilant used to clean and sterilize endoscopes in many healthcare facilities.
Though investigators found that air samples were acceptable, they did recommended increased ventilation and stricter adherence to personal protective equipment recommendations.
