Missoula Hospital uses new product to move patients easily in emergencies In preparation for hospitals emergencies, such as a fire, in which elevators don’t work, Missoula, MT, hospitals have begun using a device to help get bedridden patients out of the building, reports the Missoulian.

The Paraslyde, essentially a sled made of polypropylene with straps that secure the patient inside, can be maneuvered by two to four people down stairs. The sled can also hold up to 500 pounds. Missoula hospitals are currently working to train staff members how to properly maneuver the device, according the Missoulian.
