CDC offers new tool to estimate medical needs of displaced persons in disaster
Emergency Management Alert, August 11, 2009
Public health preparedness planners at local, state, and federal levels have a new tool to estimate the baseline medical care requirements of a displaced population following a disaster due to pre-existing medical conditions, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The “MedCon: Pre-Event” tool will help officials address the large scale medical care requirements resulting from man-made and natural disasters.
