Scientist nominated for head OSHA position

President Obama has nominated David Michaels, Ph.D., MPH, to lead OSHA, according to a July 28 White House news release.
Michaels, a research professor and interim chair of the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services, is a critic of manufacturers of dangerous products who oppose public health and environmental regulations.
