Recognizing that employers play a significant role in helping to prevent flu transmission in the general workplace, the CDC issued a guidance for such settings on June 25.
General Business and Workplace Guidance for the Prevention of Novel Influenza A (H1N1) Flu in Workers applies to employers having workers who have minimal occupational contact with the general public and other coworkers (for example, office employees).
In addition to offering measures for what both employers and employees can do to minimize workplace flu transmission, the guidance also offers suggestions for what to do when an infected employee reports for work and notifying co-workers of possible exposure.
