Symposium speaker will help you improve emergency preparation with your community

An important presentation at the 3rd Annual Hospital Safety Center Symposium May 14-15 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas will let you take home practical ideas on bolstering emergency preparedness by building relationships with your city, town, or region.
Joseph Cappiello, chairman of Cappiello & Associates in Elmhurst, IL, will present “Better ways to integrate emergency operations planning with your community.” Cappiello will share successful strategies to get local agencies more involved with disaster preparation at the hospital level.
Such efforts tie into Joint Commission standard EM.01.01.01, which in part requires hospitals to alert community response groups about the results of the facility’s hazard vulnerability analysis, he said. Early-bird registration for the symposium ends March 13.
