The Joint Commission updates Survey Activity Guide
Emergency Management Alert, February 24, 2009
Two weeks ago we told you about how the Joint Commission’s internal Surveyor Survey Activity Guide differed slightly from the publically posted Survey Activity Guide.
The internal guide indicates that a specific EC tracer will be conducted during the EC session, and an emergency management tracer – previously part of the EC session – will now be conducted during regular tracers.
The Joint Commission has since updated its public Survey Activity Guide to reflect these revised procedures. There is no specific mention in this version of the emergency management tracer, though certainly surveyors can choose to trace this topic during regular tracer activity.
