Q: Are we required to encourage staff to have titers done after their third hepatitis B vaccination at the company's expense, or at the employee's expense, or not at all?
A: OSHA requires you to provide post-vaccination testing for employees who accept your offer of the hepatitis B vaccination, and all workplace-related hepatitis B vaccination expenses must be paid by the employer.
For more on OSHA compliance for hepatitis B vaccinations, go to the bloodborne pathogens section of the Ask the Expert category at the OSHA Healthcare Advisor.
