Don’t forget that as of January 1, safety competency requirements for staff members have returned to The Joint Commission’s EC standards under EC.03.01.01.
EC.03.01.01 mandates that employees and licensed independent practitioners must be able to describe:
- Ways to minimize physical risks in the EC
- Actions to take should a safety incident occur
- How to report EC risks
Staff member education is among the session topics at HCPro’s 3rd Annual Hospital Safety Center Symposium, which takes place May 14-15 in Las Vegas. Early bird registration is available until March 13.
