Anyone who has been stuck by a needle can tell you it's a frightening experience. It's something many safety officers spend hours trying to prevent every day.
The International Sharps Injury Prevention Society (ISIPS) has taken the time to honor those who have devoted their time to spreading awareness of sharps prevention. The organization has awarded five recipients the 2008 Sharp Injury Prevention Award.
This week's featured blog post on OSHA Healthcare Advisor discusses the roll ISIPS plays in preventing needlestick injuries and provides brief descriptions of the five award recipients.
The weekly poll also asks when was the last time you had to deal with a needlestick injury in your facility. Click here to answer the poll question.
