Mirroring a tactic that New England hospitals will remember from years past, the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Atlanta office has commenced unannounced inspections in some Southeast hospitals.

The Region IV office is conducting the visits to review the management of hazardous and biohazardous waste, an agency spokesperson told the Chattanooga Times Free Press last week.

Region IV includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
