As chatter of a Democratic filibuster-proof majority in the Senate continues among political talking heads, an issue that you probably haven't heard in any of the debates could gain more prominence.
Democratic control would likely lead to d?j? vu of the 2000 ergonomics debate which pitted industry against labor, according to Inside OSHA. The difference between the 2000 debate and this one would be the outcome, if Democrats do indeed take control of the Senate.
If a new proposal were reinstated, it would not just be the old standard, but a revised version, according to the article. The proposal could be similar to the 2002 bill—the one repealed under the Bush administration—that required OSHA to re-issue an ergonomics standard within two years.
