Q: Must a medical practice keep a sharps injury log?

A: Although section (h)(5) of the bloodborne pathogens standard generally requires employers to establish and maintain a sharps injury log for the recording of percutaneous injuries from contaminated sharps, employers partially exempt from Part 1904 recordkeeping requirements are not required to keep a sharps injury log.
