The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is requesting public comment on the design of two surveys focusing on keeping healthcare workers safe in the workplace.
The healthcare workers' safety and health survey will collect information on hazards, exposures, safety and health practices, as well as use of exposure controls by occupation, type, and size of healthcare facility. The other survey is directed to healthcare employers and will collect information on facility-based health and safety resources, safety and health management programs, and policies and practices.
Results from the surveys will be helpful in identifying gaps relative to the use of best practices and define future research and intervention priorities, according to NIOSH.
Comments will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. ET on July 1. Click here to view the surveys and for information on commenting.
