Vermont hospitals test response to influenza pandemic
Emergency Management Alert, June 10, 2008
Eleven Vermont hospitals will work with state Health Department and Emergency Management June 11 to test their ability to respond to an influenza pandemic.
More than 100 officials are scheduled to participate in the exercise, playing roles in a simulated influenza outbreak, reported the Barre Montpelier Times Argus. The hospitals will try to cope with a 30% surge in patients. The exercise will test the hospitals on disease surveillance, investigation and control measures, rapid exchange of information, and the simulated delivery of information to healthcare providers and the public.
