Mock tornadoes test Oklahoma emergency workers
Emergency Management Alert, May 13, 2008
A full scale exercise, in which a series of mock tornadoes tore through the region, tested emergency workers in Oklahoma April 30.
As part of the disaster preparedness exercise, hospitals across the Oklahoma City area created their own disaster response scenarios, testing their capabilities and triage staging as patients with faked injuries filled emergency rooms, reported NewsOK.com.
The Midwest City Fire Department, Oklahoma City Public Works, Oklahoma City-County Health Department, and several other agencies tested their emergency response capabilities through an incident command center.
