List of states failing SNS medical supply distribution requirements

Emergency Management Alert, January 22, 2008

Sorry, but we're obsessed of late with the report we cited last week, "Ready or Not? Protecting the Public's Health from Diseases, Disasters, and Bioterrorism," from the Trust for American's Health (TFAH). In our EMA article (accessed at www.hcpro.com) you learned why you'd probably rather be in Nebraska than Wyoming if you were overly concerned about, say, Internet-based disease monitoring and tracking systems during a pandemic. But we digress.

States listed here lack adequate plans to distribute vaccines, antidotes, and supplies--either scoring 60 or below on the CDC's new strategic national stockpile (SNS) evaluation tool or scoring poorly on the old SNS rating scale for delivery and administration of  emergency vaccines, antidotes, and medical supplies.

Arkansas
Georgia
Hawaii
Maine
Maryland
North Carolina
North Dakota
South Carolina
South Dakota
West Virginia
Wisconsin
