Maine responders test new EM radio technology

Typically we avoid mentioning private companies in EMA, but given the ongoing and large-scale problems with emergency communications (of all types) we'll run this link to a recent Information Week story about BAE Systems and the First InterComm system. That product enables radios on different frequencies to communicate with each other at emergency scenes. It's being tested right now in Maine under the auspices of the National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM).
