The number of citations issued to physician practices by Federal OSHA was up by a third from last year.

A Medical Environment Update analysis of OSHA inspection statistics for FY 2007 shows that only the "offices and clinics of doctors of medicine" category showed a significant increase in the numbers of citations issued compared to other healthcare facilities.

Citations and fines increased slightly for nursing and personal care facilities, but decreased for dentists, hospitals, and laboratories.

More inspection information is available at the OSHA inspection data Web page.
