Therapy programs in Georgia schools face financial crunch
Rehab Regs, November 2, 2007
Georgia's school system might lose $12.3 million in the next fiscal year because of proposed changes in Medicaid reimbursement for special education programs, according to Tennessee's Chattanooga Times Free Press. Under CMS' proposed budget, reimbursement for administrative and travel-related costs for students receiving physical therapy in school might end or face significant reductions. This change would cause school districts to cover the bill for services and cost schools thousands, according to the newspaper.
