Occupational therapists advocate for the profession

In an effort to advocate for occupational therapists' contribution to health and wellness, 120 OTs turned out for Capital Hill Day in Washington, DC on September 17, according to an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) press release. Students and practitioners met with senators and representatives to discuss the following:

  • Medicare Part B outpatient therapy caps
  • The State Child Health Insurance Program
  • Mental health parity
  • Home health
  • Veterans' health care
  • The Medicaid rehabilitation service option
