CMS database is up and running

CMS' National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) data dissemination plan to allow SNFs and other health care entities to obtain NPPES information about other providers (e.g., physicians) is currently up and running. The National Provider Identifier (NPI) Registry, which is a query-only database for obtaining NPI and legacy identifier information, is now available at https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov/NPPES/NPIRegistryHome.do.
The downloadable data file of disclosable NPPES information also is accessible at http://nppesdata.cms.hhs.gov/cms_NPI_files.html.
