PT patients in Tennessee get direct access

Patients in Tennessee seeking physical therapy will benefit from a new state law that allows them direct access without physician referrals, according to the Memphis Business Journal. On July 1, House Bill 964 and Senate Bill 1144 went into effect, allowing patients to obtain therapy services for 30 days if the PT meets the requirements listed in the law and informs the patient's physician within five days of the first visit.
