Robots and PTs work together in Philly

Rehab Regs, June 29, 2007

Physical therapists in Philadelphia are using robots to assist patients during therapy sessions, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. The robot helps patients with disabling arm problems and helps with repetitive arm movements. Twelve hospitals are using the device which was introduced in the United States from Israel in 2006.

Patients recovering from strokes, neurological problems, and various other injuries benefit from the device because the repetitive movement helps them build endurance and range-of-motion, according to The Inquirer.
