Minnesota passes law to license PTAs

Rehab Regs, June 8, 2007

A healthcare bill passed at the end of May now requires all physical therapy assistants (PTA) in Minnesota to be licensed, according to a press release from the American Physical Therapy Association. Minnesota is the 37th state to license PTAs.

Licensure ensures that PTAs receive the proper education and training needed to assist physical therapists and treat patients. Licensure gives PTAs recognition and regulations, according to the press release.
