Indiana passes bill to require OT licensure

On May 8, Indiana became the 47th state to provide licensure for occupational therapists (OT), according to pr-inside.com. Under the new law, OTs need to have their competency checked on a continuous basis. The purpose of providing OT licensure is to guarantee the consumers receive the best quality of healthcare, which only a licensed professional is qualified to do. The American Physical Therapy Association and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association supported the bill, according to pr-inside.com.
