PT workers' comp claims decrease in California

Rehab Regs, February 2, 2007

Workers' compensation reform legislation has led to a decrease in the amount of PT claims in California, reported the Insurance Journal.

The California Workers' Compensation Institute recently completed a study that showed that the number of PT visits has dropped dramatically since the state implemented a 24-visit cap and a utilization review.

The study showed that previously 40% of workers' compensation claims included PT, but that has dropped to less than 33% since the reform, according to the Journal.
