Illinois MS patients await governor's signature
Rehab Regs, January 12, 2007
People in the state of Illinois suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS) are eagerly anticipating Governor Rod Blagojevich's decision on whether to sign into law SB 2917, reported the Journal Gazette & Times-Courier in Charleston, IL.
The law, which would secure insurance coverage of preventative PT for people living with MS, has already been approved by the state Senate and House.
Currently in Illinois and many other states, once an MS patient stops getting better from PT, insurance stops covering the service, even though maintenance PT helps these people to maintain their mobility, according to the newspaper.
