Study: Soy substance may help MS patients

Researchers from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia say that a soy-based substance may help patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), according to United Press International.

The study showed that a substance called Bowmann-Birk Inhibitor Concentrate, which is made from soy, had restorative powers in animals with a MS-like disease.

When given to the animals, the substance helped them with the ability to move and walk. Researchers say when given to patients in conjunction with beta-interferon and receiving OT services, it may prove valuable to MS patients, reported United Press.
