Student PT clinic honored

Rehab Regs, October 20, 2006

A Michigan-based student-run physical therapy clinic that treats the uninsured or underinsured was honored by Isabella County with the Productive Citizens Award recently, according to Central Michigan Life.

Hands for Health, which helps patients in the Mount Pleasant, MI, community, allows PT students to experience the patient/clinician relationship while practicing their skills on real patients with real symptoms.

Thirty-five second-year PT students practice under the supervision of four certified PTs, treating patients for free.
