PT group sponsors bike fitness fair
Rehab Regs, October 13, 2006
The department of physical therapy at Ithaca (NY) College teamed up with the school's cycling club this week to hold a Bike Fit Fair to educate community members how to ride their bikes properly, according to The Ithacan.
The event was part of National Physical Therapy Month, which is stressing bike safety across the country this year. The fair featured PTs and PT students taking riders' blood pressure, testing muscle flexibility, and giving tips on stretching.
The PTs and students also helped riders make adjustments to posture and bike alignment to prevent future injuries.
Members of the cycling club offered riders tips on better bike riding and popular riding spots in the area.
