AOTA runs successful backpack safety campaign
Rehab Regs, October 6, 2006
Occupational therapy practitioners, researchers, and students across the United States made National School Backpack Awareness Day a success, according to the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
Nearly 500 backpack events were held in schools, community centers, and retail facilities as more than 100,000 students in every state learned about AOTA's "Pack It Light, Wear It Right!" campaign.
Though School Backpack Awareness Day is over this year, AOTA said it hopes OTs will continue to stress the importance of backpack safety year round.
