ACOTE adopts new accreditation standards
Rehab Regs, September 29, 2006
The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) adopted new accreditation standards for professional master's degree OT programs and OT assistant programs earlier this month.
Programs must comply with the new standards by January 1, 2008. The changes emphasize specifying intervention content and competencies and accountability for outcomes, according to Jane Olson, OTR, PhD, the ACOTE chairperson.
New OT doctorate standards should be forthcoming as ACOTE hopes to adopt them at its December meeting.
