Rehab Regs, September 22, 2006

Therapists at Farmington Valley (CT) Physical Therapy will soon usea method known as Somatics Systems to help treat patients with chronic pain, according to a statement released by the facility.

Boguslawa Badon, RPT, the chief executive officer of Farmington Valley Physical Therapy, has been learning the system for a year and will soon send select staff to learn the program.

Somatics is a system of reeducating a patient's muscles and recalibrating overused and injured muscles by lengthening the muscles to its natural, relaxed state, according to the statement.
