Reminder: CMS will hold payments beginning today
Rehab Regs, September 22, 2006
Rehab providers should remember to factor in CMS' temporary Medicare payment hold into their practice, according to CMS. All Medicare payments will be held for the last nine days of September due to a Congressional mandate for CMS to shift $5.2 billion of Medicare payments from the current budget year into fiscal year 2007.
CMS says all claims due to be paid from September 22 to September 30 will be paid on October 2, though large providers may see some delays.
