Surveyed clinics could face user fees
Rehab Regs, July 28, 2006
Healthcare facilities subject to CMS certification, survey, or complaint visits will be subject to a user fee if they are required to be reinspected by a fault of their own or are the subject of a substantiated complaint, according to Inside CMS.
The user fee provision is part of the Senate Labor/Department of Health and Human Services Appropriations bill.
Outpatient PT clinics, outpatient rehab facilities, SNFs, and home health agencies could all face an unspecified user fee for failing an initial survey, reported Inside CMS.
