Ohio practice opens outdoor therapy area
Rehab Regs, July 7, 2006
Aultman Health Foundation's Woodlawn Therapy facility in Jackson, OH, has opened an outdoor physical therapy area used on nice weather days to perform numerous therapy activities, according to the Canton Repository.
The outdoor area has a putting green, a garden raised to wheelchair level, a gazebo, a horseshoe pit, a shuffleboard court, and a variety of different walking surfaces meant to assist patients in improving their outdoor mobility skills.
Aultman therapists say they have found the outdoor area works well not only for helping patients get used to different settings, but the area also makes therapy more interesting and enjoyable, reported the Repository
