U.S. Army added PT section to brigade
Rehab Regs, June 16, 2006
The U.S. Army Forces Command and Medical Command deployed a physical therapy section into Baghdad for the first time in April, allowing soldiers to receive treatment while on the battlefield, according to Blackanthem Military News.
Prior to the deployment of Company C, 704th Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, soldiers had to be transported to a combat support hospital in order to receive therapy.
Many soldiers would forgo treatment because it involved leaving their unit for long periods of time in some cases, Blackanthem Military News reported.
Back pain is the number one problem soldiers encounter, followed by shoulder problems.
