Louisiana foundation helps children receive therapy
Rehab Regs, June 2, 2006
The NeuroPeds Foundation is helping children in Louisiana receive therapy services they would not normally be able to afford, reported the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
The foundation sponsors children with cerebral palsy and other neuromuscular disorders who can't afford NeuroPed physical therapy, a three-week treatment that usually costs $7,500.
NeuroPed treatment includes the use of a special elastic resistant suit that helps patients learn the proper use and control of muscles, according to the Times-Picayune.
Medicare and most other insurances typically pay for NeuroPed treatment, so the foundation assists children without any insurance.
